ATHENS, Ga. (BVM) – Stetson Bennett is already the greatest quarterback in Georgia history, according to one former Bulldog who knows a thing or two about being under center in Athens.
“Not only is Stetson Bennett going to NYC, he has moved into GOAT status at UGA,” former UGA quarterback Aaron Murray said in a tweet on Saturday. “He is the greatest QB in Georgia history.”

It’s high praise from someone who many believe is actually the greatest Bulldog QB ever, but Murray knows what Bennett has done as a former walk-on is the stuff of legends.
After leading Georgia to its first national championship since 1980 last season, Bennett just led the Bulldogs to their first SEC title since 2017 by throwing for 274 yards and four touchdowns in a rout of LSU in the conference title game. The 2022 CFP National Championship Offensive MVP is already a central figure in Georgia football’s rich history.
