8. Derian Hatcher, D (1993-2003)

Hatcher quickly established a dominating presence on the ice after being drafted in 1989. In 1995 he took over as the Stars’ captain and served in that role until he signed a contract with Detroit Red Wings.

Hatcher was the first American-born captain to win the Stanley Cup in 1999.
