Panthers sign QB Jacob Eason to reserve/future deal
The Carolina Panthers have signed a quarterback! Okay, maybe it’s not the splashy kind of name fans were hoping for under center. Nonetheless, the team—as announced on Tuesday morning–has inked Jacob Eason to a reserve/future deal. Eason, a University of Washington product, cracked into the league as a fourth-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in the 2020 draft. Following a pair of seasons at the University of Georgia, where he started 12 games in 2016, the Lake Stevens, Wash. native moved back home—where he passed for 3,132 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions before his jump to the pros.
