The Boston Red Sox acquired shortstop Adalberto Mondesi from the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday, the teams announced. Going to the Royals is left-handed reliever Josh Taylor. The Red Sox will also receive another player to be named later or cash considerations. Mondesi played in just 15 games last season for the Royals before he tore his ACL in late April and missed the remainder of the year.
