Giannis celebrates 50-burger with Culver’s cheeseburgers
MILWAUKEE (BVM) – The Milwaukee Bucks were down as much as 21 points in the third quarter of their home game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. The Bucks were able to cut the lead and then Giannis Antetokounmpo took over, scoring the last 12 points for Milwaukee as the Bucks eked out a 106-105 win and Antetokounmpo scored 54 points. Now, he’s ready to celebrate his 50-burger with Culver’s cheeseburgers.
“Tomorrow I think I’m going to go to Culver’s,” Antetokounmpo told reporters following the game. “I’ll go get 50 cheeseburgers and try to eat as many as I can. The rest, I’ll have my son eat them or I will give them to my dog.”
Giannis famously went to Chick-fil-A and ordered 50 chicken nuggets following his 50-point performance in game six of the 2021 NBA Finals to help Milwaukee win their first championship in 50 years. Now, he’s gone full Wisconsin and decided to celebrate his impressive game with a Wisconsin staple: Culver’s.

The Wisconsin-based restaurant tweeted this morning that not only is Antetokounmpo welcomed at any location for his 54 cheeseburgers, but the company would also be donating 54,000 diapers to Milwaukee Diaper Mission. Antetokounmpo’s girlfriend, Mariah Danae, is a board member for the charity and it works to eliminate the diaper gap in Milwaukee.
Congrats on the W + 54 points, @giannis_an34! Come see us for your 54 cheeseburgers! To celebrate, we'd also like to make a donation of 54,000 diapers to @MKEdiaper. We appreciate all that you and @mariahdanae15 do for the city of Milwaukee! pic.twitter.com/rpB5dxWk4q

It’s Milwaukee’s sixth straight win and Antetokoumpo’s sixth 50-plus point game of his career, leaving him only four away from tying Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s franchise record of 10 50-plus point games. This 54-point display is also Giannis’ third this season.
“It’s a great compliment to be up there with Kareem,” Antetokounmpo said. “Man, I never thought I was going to score 50 in the NBA when I got drafted. It’s an insane, crazy journey.”
The Greek Freak has been on a tear over the last month. In the last 11 games, he’s scored 50 points three times, including a career-high 55 points against the Washington Wizards in January. Milwaukee’s superstar is doing his best to keep the MVP race tight. He is currently third in scoring (32.3 ppg) and second in rebounding (12.3). He’s doing all of this while averaging just 33.5 minutes.
Antetokounmpo’s success in the new year suggests that this won’t be his last stop at Culver’s. However, he may decide to switch it up next time. Instead of 50 burgers he may want to get 50 cheese curds, 50 buffalo chicken tenders or 50 fish filets.
