Top 5 NFL player comebacks after year or longer suspensions

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (BVM) – Suspended Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Calvin Ridley applied for reinstatement Wednesday, his first day of eligibility to do so. Ridley, who was suspended for betting on NFL games during the 2021 season, missed the entirety of the 2022 season serving the suspension which was handed down in March 2022.

Though Ridley has missed over a calendar year of game-action, last playing in a game for the Atlanta Falcons in Oct. 2021, he is far from the first player to try to return to the gridiron following lengthy suspensions. Some of these players were able to put their past behind them, finding success once they returned to the league.

Here are the top five NFL comebacks for players after they served suspensions of a year or longer.
