NASCAR Cup Series’ best by car number: 90-99
No. 91 (1949-2022)
With a small amount of total races compared to other numbers, the No. 91 car has found an impressive level of success in just a short stint on the track. From 1951-53, driver Tim Flock picked up all 16 wins the car has ever seen. His success in 1952 led to a Grand National Series championship in the No. 91.
Outside of Flock, only one other driver started over 20 races during the sport’s history. Legendary racer Bill Elliot used the No. 91 on a part–time basis from 2004-05 before Evernham Motorsports discontinued its use for the 2006 campaign. For the first time since 2012, Kimi Raikkonen used the number during one race in 2022.
