Darius Slay seeks trade; 5 fits for ball-hawking cornerback
PHILADELPHIA (BVM) — Darius Slay received permission to seek a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. The 32-year-old cornerback is entering the final year of his contract and carries a cap hit of $26 million.
The Philadelphia Eagles have allowed Darius Slay's agent Drew Rosenhaus to seek a trade, per sources. The Eagles are still hopeful to find a solution where Slay remains an Eagle.

Slay had three interceptions and 14 passes defended during the 2022 season and helped Philadelphia reach the Super Bowl, where it fell to the Kansas City Chiefs. Now eyeing the 2023 season, Slay is ready for a new deal, but the Eagles are trying to stay under the cap number of $224.8 million set by the league. However, both sides haven’t come to an agreement on a new contract.
It’s my understanding Darius Slay would like a new deal. Eagles would like to sign him to new deal & lower his cap number. But they don’t agree on money. I’m hearing Eagles are allowing him to see if there is a better deal with another team but the hope is Slay remains an Eagle pic.twitter.com/U0tob7NLDP
