Darius Slay seeks trade; 5 fits for ball-hawking cornerback

PHILADELPHIA (BVM) — Darius Slay received permission to seek a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. The 32-year-old cornerback is entering the final year of his contract and carries a cap hit of $26 million.

Slay had three interceptions and 14 passes defended during the 2022 season and helped Philadelphia reach the Super Bowl, where it fell to the Kansas City Chiefs. Now eyeing the 2023 season, Slay is ready for a new deal, but the Eagles are trying to stay under the cap number of $224.8 million set by the league. However, both sides haven’t come to an agreement on a new contract.

Slay is now looking for a trade, and several teams could use his services, but which teams are best for him? These are the five best destinations if the former All-Pro is traded.
