Top 10 Washington D.C. HS baseball players in Class of 2023
10. Andrew Powers, 1B, St. John’s
Starting off the list is Powers, a quality first baseman for the St. John’s College Cadets. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound corner infielder is ranked as the No. 143 player in the Virginia-DC Class of 2023 player rankings by Prep Baseball Report and the No. 53 player in Maryland by Perfect Game.
Last season, Powers helped lead the Cadets to a 23-8 record and an appearance in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship game. Powers will play at the next level as he committed to nearby Virginia Commonwealth University in June. Following a strong season a year ago, Powers will look to help his team get over the hump with a WCAC championship this spring.
