Sixth-ranked W&L bested by No. 1 CNU, 16-11, in LtN Cup

LEXINGTON, Va. – The sixth-ranked Washington and Lee men’s lacrosse team fell by a 16-11 final score against top-ranked Christopher Newport in the sixth annual Lacrosse the Nations Cup game on Wednesday night. The Captains (9-0) opened the scoring just 53 seconds into the game, courtesy of a Drew Miller goal. Senior Hudson Pokorny (Darien, Conn. / Darien) and sophomore Hillis Burns (Louisville, Ky. / St. Xavier) teamed up for the Generals’ (6-2) first goal just 45 seconds later, but the Captains scored the next four goals, including two from Alex Brendes, to take a 5-1 lead at the 2:55…
