New York Yankees

Since 2009, no other team has won more AL East titles than the Yankees (5) and New York will no doubt contend for another, led by superstar Aaron Judge, who signed a nine-year, $360 million deal and will be the first Yankee captain since Derek Jeter.

The Yankees also brought back former All-Star and World Series champion Anthony Rizzo and will still have right-handed slugger Giancarlo Stanton, who will help boost offensive numbers. Along with the fan favorites, New York could also be looking for contributions from the top prospect Anthony Volpe who was told he was making the Opening Day roster on Sunday.

While the lineup in New York is strong, the starting rotation is also solid, featuring Gerrit Cole and southpaw Carlos Rodon, who signed a six-year, $162 million contract in the offseason. However, Rodon will start the season on the injured list and could join the team later in April, and Nestor Cortes could use this opportunity to take another step forward after coming off an All-Star season and finishing eighth in Cy Young voting.

Overall, it seems like the Yankees are in for another successful season, but only time will tell if this newly reloaded ballclub can reach its first World Series in over a decade.

Prediction: 101-61, first place
