ITHACA, N.Y. — Senior defenseman Sam Malinski has signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Colorado Avalanche, the organization announced Thursday morning. Malinski’s contract with the Avalanche will begin with the 2023-24 season, as the blueliner will join the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, Colorado Eagles, on a professional tryout contract (PTO) for the remainder of the season. This past season, Malinski recorded 26 points (eight goals, 18 assists) in 34 games for Cornell.
