(BVM) – While the 2023 NFL Draft had once projected an interesting two-man race between Jalen Carter and Will Anderson for the draft’s top selections, the past month has all but changed the dynamic entering the April event.

With the Chicago Bears pre-free agency trade of the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers, and an impressive showing at the NFL combine from some of the classes’ incoming quarterbacks, the narrative at the top has flipped.

The week in Indianapolis provided many of the draft’s prospects the positive spotlight they had hoped for. For the Georgia Bulldogs star defensive lineman, the stay only complicated his future. Carter was set to appear in front of the NFL world during the weeklong event but was instead sidelined by an arrest warrant issued by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department due to his connection to a fatal crash on Jan. 15.

Carter has since pleaded no contest and was issued 12 months of probation to go along with a $1,000 fine and 80 hours of community service. Following Carter’s abnormal week at the NFL combine, the Bulldogs star defender was given his most recent chance to perform in front of scouts at the Georgia Pro Day.

While his drill-work at the Pro Day drew mixed reviews, Carter will have the chance over the next few weeks to make up for some of the questions that have arisen recently during formal meetings with teams.

With franchises around the league doing their due diligence on the Georgia star, many will make their determinations before the draft happens on just where they fall. With that said, here’s a look at five teams that make sense for Carter.
