Ryan Nembhard enters transfer portal; 5 possible landing spots

5. Notre Dame

The Micah Shrewsberry era in South Bend, Indiana could get off to an excellent start if the first-year Notre Dame head coach is able to land Nembhard. The sophomore guard might be looking for more of an immediate contender than the Fighting Irish who finished 11-21 (14th in the ACC) last season, but Penn State was in a similarly bad spot before Shrewsberry transformed the program and led the Nittany Lions to the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Each of Notre Dame’s three leading scorers from last season were seniors and freshman guard J.J. Starling has transferred to Syracuse. Nembhard could be the face of the Fighting Irish’s renaissance.
