Top 5 performances at the Masters by an amateur
5. Jack Nicklaus, T7, 1961
At 21 years old Nicklaus took the momentum he had from finishing second at the U.S. Open and brought it to the Masters. Nicklaus opened the Masters by shooting a 70 and after getting a 75 on the second day he bounced back to finish 1-under to earn a tie for seventh. It was Nicklaus’ last Masters as an amateur and first of 22 top-10 finishes at the Masters.
