Washington Commanders mock draft 2023: Pick-by-pick predictions

WASHINGTON (BVM) – The Washington Commanders have eight picks in the 2023 NFL Draft and plenty of work to do after an 8-8-1 season.

Martin Mayhew enters his third season as the Commanders general manager with a myriad of holes to fill on a roster that’s bereft of elite talent. Eric Bieniemy was brought in as Washington’s offensive coordinator this offseason after winning his second Super Bowl in five years with the Kansas City Chiefs and will be tasked with reinvigorating an offense that finished 24th in points (18.9 per game) in 2022.

With Sam Howell expected to be the Week 1 starting quarterback – and Jacoby Brissett ready if need be – the Commanders can focus their draft efforts on better protecting whoever ends up under center. A young and unproven secondary also makes Washington a candidate to draft a highly-touted defensive back or two.

The 2023 NFL Draft right is around the corner and here’s the best-case scenario for the Commanders’ eight selections.
