Shevchenko Recognized With GLIAC All-Academic Honors

DETROIT — Junior Vika Shevchenko (Troy, Mich.) of the Wayne State University women’s fencing squad was the lone representative on the GLIAC All-Academic Team. This is the fourth year the conference recognized student-athletes from non-GLIAC sports. Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, and not a freshman or a first-year transfer student. Shevchenko (Nursing) was honored for the second straight season for mainitaing a cumulative grade-point average of at least a 3.0.
