5 standouts from Notre Dame’s Blue-Gold Game
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (BVM) – The first full season of the Marcus Freeman era at Notre Dame got off to a rocky start last fall, as the Fighting Irish dropped their first two contests of the year. However, from there, Notre Dame won nine of its final 11 games, which included an impressive victory over South Carolina in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.
As a result, there is plenty of optimism and excitement going into the 2023 season, as Notre Dame will hope to build on the momentum they sustained late last year.
While plenty of the same playmakers will return from last season’s roster, Notre Dame has a strong recruiting class coming in, and also made some key moves through the transfer portal over the offseason, none bigger than adding quarterback Sam Hartman who figures to take over as the starter for the Irish after five seasons at Wake Forest.
Hartman was one of many players Fighting Irish fans got a good look at during Notre Dame’s annual spring Blue-Gold Game on Saturday, as the Gold Team took down the Blue Team, 24-0.
Here are five of the biggest standouts from Notre Dame’s spring game.
