Connor Vanover, 7-foot-5 center, enters portal; 5 landing spots
5. Purdue
The Boilermakers may have a huge void to fill in the middle of their roster come next season. Star center Zach Edey, the 7-foot-4 Naismith College Player of the Year, entered his name into the NBA draft but did leave the door open to return as he maintained eligibility. But, if Edey does leave for the pros as it has been projected, Purdue will be in desperate need of a replacement.
This is where Vanover could come in. Not only has the center proven to be a defensive stalwart, but he has enough offense to also make him dangerous. Given head coach Matt Painter’s penchant for developing bigs from Edey to Matt Haarms to Isaac Haas, this marriage could be a match made in heaven but it all hinges on Edey’s decision.
