DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University softball seniors Hannah Heath, Karsin Lee and Lauren Nelson were announced to the 2023 Academic All-District Team selected by the College Sports Communicators. Nelson, a catcher from Summerfield, North Carolina, led the Cougars with a .308 batting average, 37 hits, two home runs and 22 runs batted in while knocking five doubles and starting al 40 games as catcher. Nelson graduating in May with a degree in biomedical sciences. Lee, a second baseman from Roxboro, North Carolina, batted .250 while starting all 40 games this season.
