Top 5 golfers most likely to complete the grand slam

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (BVM) – Brooks Koepka confirmed that his impressive showing at the Masters in April was not a fluke by winning the PGA Championship at the Oak Hill Country Club this past weekend. Similar to the Masters, Koepka entered the final round of the PGA Championship in the lead but this time he did not “choke” and finished strong to win his fifth career major along with his third PGA Championship.

Koepka shot a 67 in the final round to finish nine-under par for the weekend and two strokes ahead of Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland who tied for second.
With the win, Koepka joins rarified air in the golf world. He is only the 20th golfer to ever win five majors in their careers. Koepka joins Tiger Woods and fellow LIV golfer Phil Mickelson as the only ones to reach the milestone in the last 30 years. He also became the first golfer since Jack Nicklaus to win the PGA Championship three times in a six-year span.
The resurgence of Koepka is due to his incredible recovery from a career-threatening knee injury he suffered in the 2021. In interviews since and in the Netflix series “Full Swing,” Koepka has described in detail how bad the injury was, even talking about how following the knee surgery he had that he was in tears due to the pain during the 2021 Masters.
Entering the PGA Championship, there were still doubts due to his loss to Jon Rahm at the Masters but Koepka dismissed any doubts about his playing ability at Oak Hill Country Club.
“I’m back,” Koepka said following his win at the PGA Championship. “I’m here.”
Koepka’s back but is he now the frontrunner to complete the grand slam? No one since Tiger has been able to win all four majors, the Masters, U.S. Open, PGA Championship and Open Championship, but there are some golfers close to accomplishing the massive career milestone. However, accomplishing the feat is extremely hard to do, Mickelson has been trying to get his final major since 2013. Many golfers have come close but have struggled to get the last wins they need. Here are the top five golfers most likely to complete the grand slam in the near future.
