Top 5 drivers who could win the 2023 Indy 500

Honorable mention

Helio Castroneves

Castroneves may be 48 years old, but it’s hard to ever count out the Brazil native in Indianapolis. Castroneves has claimed four Indy 500 titles since 2001, most recently winning in 2021. A fifth win at the infamous race would be the most all time for any IndyCar driver.

Marcus Ericsson

The 32-year-old Ericsson has put together a nice season thus far, sitting third in the IndyCar series standings currently with 155 points. More importantly, the Sweden native is the defending champion of the Indy 500. Back-to-back winners have not come along often in this race, but Ericsson has the capability to change that narrative this weekend.

Will Power

Power got to celebrate with the milk in victory lane back in 2018, but the Aussie has been searching for a second Indy 500 win ever since. Although his 2023 season started out a bit slow, Power is more than capable of surprising with a win this week.
