Kyle Kuzma declines player option; Top 5 landing spots
WASHINGTON (BVM) – Kyle Kuzma has declined his player option worth $13 million for next season and will become an unrestricted free agent. The Washington Wizards forward will be one of the free agent “marketplace’s most prominent players,” according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Kuzma averaged a career-high 21.2 points and 3.7 assists to go along with 6.4 rebounds last season for the 35-47 Wizards. His 35 minutes per game were also a team and career high as he stepped into more of a prominent role during his sixth NBA season.
The 27-year-old Kuzma was a key member of the 2019-20 Los Angeles Lakers that won the NBA Finals as he averaged 12.8 points and 4.5 rebounds during the championship run. Now a free agent, Kuzma possesses the playoff experience, shooting, size (6-foot-9) and versatility that many contending teams will pursue.
With that in mind, here are five possible landing spots for Kuzma after declining his 2023-24 player option.
