Jack Flaherty is a potential trade candidate; 5 landing spots

ST. LOUIS (BVM) – With World Series aspirations entering into the 2023 year, the upcoming trade deadline comes as a reminder for just how far the St. Louis Cardinals’ goals have changed this season.
With the Cardinals sitting at the bottom of the NL Central for the majority of the campaign, a number of players on the roster could find themselves as part of the upcoming trade deadline mix. One potential option from that group is veteran pitcher Jack Flaherty.
The 27-year-old righthander had been one of St. Louis’ budding stars over his first three campaigns but injuries spread out throughout the course of the past three seasons have kept Flaherty from topping 100 innings in a season. Flaherty, however, is on pace this year with 17 starts and just over 90 innings pitched. While staying available has been an important part of Flaherty’s plans for 2023, his previous numbers haven’t quite come with his year on the bump as he sports a 4.27 ERA.
With a chance to possibly return to his past form elsewhere, here’s a few teams that could enter in a trade sweepstake for the once Cardinals’ ace.
