After officially taking over for quarterback Cade McNamara last season, the former five-star quarterback recruit showed just why Wolverines coaches and fans were ready to get a glimpse of him in the starting job. McCarthy propelled the Michigan offense in his first full season under center, passing for 2,719 yards and 22 touchdowns. With another five touchdowns coming on the ground, the rising third-year quarterback could be ready to enjoy a similar campaign as the Wolverines look to make it back into the College Football Playoff.
