After a 4-2 record during the COVID-impacted 2020 season resulted in an Alamo Bowl appearance, the Buffaloes have had a rough couple of years. In 2021, Colorado went 4-8 which kept them out of a bowl game before the bottom fell out in 2022 as the team finished with a 1-11 record.

While the Buffaloes have had a difficult couple of years, things are looking up for the program in 2023 as the arrival of new head coach Deion Sanders and quarterback Shedeur Sanders has breathed new life into the team. Expectations are high for Colorado to make it off this list in quick succession.
