NEW YORK (BVM) – The 14 rookie NFL quarterbacks will be put to the test during the 2023-24 football season. But, who passed their tests as college athletes? Here’s what to know about their GPAs, college degrees and S2 Cognition test scores.
Note that this list isn’t ranked from “smartest to dumbest.” Having a high GPA (typically measured on a 4.0 scale) and/or a college degree isn’t a measure of intelligence due to the educational and environmental inequalities that exist.
For context, the S2 Cognition test replaced the Wonderlic test, which was administered at every NFL Scouting Combine to test general intelligence. Instead, the S2 tests nine cognitive functions in order to measure how quickly and accurately the athlete can process information. The S2 scores of 2023 NFL rookie QBs were never officially released to the public, but they were leaked.
Many college QBs made sure to get the job done both on and off the field when they were student-athletes. Their intellect isn’t being overlooked as they begin their new journey as NFL QBs.
