Field hockey drops overtime decision to Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Holy Cross field hockey team fell to Brown University in overtime, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon at the Goldberg Family Field. The Bears (2-0) came out strong in the first half, outshooting the Crusaders (1-2) 15-2, while drawing seven corners. Senior Katie Guden scored her second goal of the season to take a 1-0 lead for the Crusaders with 14:06 remaining in the fourth quarter. Sound defense by Guden, senior Allie McDonough, and sophomore Julia Carrozza forced a turnover by the Bears below the 23-meter line.
