The West Virginia University volleyball team suffered a tough five-set loss to Colgate in the opening match of the Colgate Ellis Rowland Memorial Tournament. Despite winning sets two and four, the Mountaineers were unable to close out the match and fell short. Junior outside hitter Hailey Green led the team with 24 kills, while sophomore middle blocker Bailey Miller contributed 17 kills. The Mountaineers dominated in kills, with 66 compared to the Raiders’ 59. West Virginia will next face Cornell on September 8th.
