10 NFL teams that have won the Super Bowl after 0-1 start

New York Giants, 1986

Although they entered the season as a favorite to win the Super Bowl, the Giants’ 1986 season started off poorly as they dropped a divisional game to the rival Cowboys, 31-28. However, the loss didn’t deter New York as it went on to lose just one more game that season, a 17-12 road loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7.

The Giants were dominant in the playoffs as they advanced to the Super Bowl with convincing wins over San Francisco and Washington, outscoring their opponents 66-3. New York continued its strong play in Super Bowl XXI, beating the Denver Broncos 39-20.
