10 NFL teams that have won the Super Bowl after 0-1 start

Dallas Cowboys, 1993

After winning Super Bowl XXVII, the Cowboys were once again seen as a championship contender entering the 1993 season. However, the start of the year couldn’t have gone any worse as the team dropped its first two games of the year to fall to 0-2.

Fortunately, with the return of running back Emmitt Smith, who had missed the first two contests due to a contract dispute, Dallas was able to win 12 of its next 14 games to finish the regular season 12-4. Wins over the Green Bay Packers and the 49ers earned the Cowboys a spot in Super Bowl XXVIII against the Buffalo Bills, whom they lost to 13-10 in Week 2. However, Dallas would not lose this day as it dominated Buffalo in a 30-13 victory to become the first team to start a year 0-2 to win a Super Bowl.
