American University women’s soccer started Patriot League action with a 2-1 victory against Army West Point. Alyssa Giroux and Brooke Steel scored for the Eagles. Giroux continues her scoring streak with her third consecutive goal of the season, while Steel’s goal was her second of the season. Graduate student Ashley Molz provided an assist for the team. The Eagles dominated possession in the first half and secured the win with a goal in the 66th minute. Junior goalkeeper Julia Kato made two saves to preserve the victory. Next up, American will face Bucknell on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
