College football’s top 5 matchups of Week 4
5. No. 22 UCLA vs. No. 11 Utah – Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, FOX
While this will only be the 21st meeting all time between UCLA and Utah, the two programs have sparked a pretty nice rivalry since the Utes made the move to the Pac-12 over a decade ago. The Bruins currently lead the all-time series with a 12-8 record over the Utes thanks to winning the first eight contests the teams ever played. However, Utah had won five straight against the Bruins prior to a 42-32 loss last year.
In that matchup, the Utes were a top-10 team, while the Bruins were ranked No. 21, so both teams come into this year’s game in Salt Lake City in a similar position. UCLA has gotten off to a strong 3-0 start, most recently dominating NC Central in a 59-7 win as five-star freshman quarterback Dante Moore has looked the part so far early in the year.
Utah also comes into the contest undefeated, earning a couple of strong wins over Florida and Baylor before blowing out Weber State last week. Impressively, it has all been done without star quarterback Cam Rising who could make his season debut this week and potentially propel the Utes into the top 10 with a win.
