Shedeur Sanders’ NIL valuation jumps over $5 million
BOULDER, Colo. (BVM) – Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders has jumped to a $5.1 million NIL valuation, according to On3.
Sanders started out the 2023 college football season with a $1.3 million NIL worth (292% increase). It literally pays to play for Deion Sanders – who has previously risen to become the “No. 1 most in-demand sports figure.”
Shedeur’s income is now comparable to Coach Prime’s annual salary of $5.5 million. Thanks to NIL, athletes can make more money than their coaches – even if that coach is the player’s parent.
Shedeur has the No. 1 highest NIL valuation in all of college football. He passes Arch Manning ($2.9 million), who was once widely believed to be the most marketable name in the game due to his pedigree.
Shedeur is also making more money than many NFL players in terms of base salary. He is racking in $3.4 million more than Dak Prescott, who has a 2023 base salary of $1.7 million. He is also making five times more than Joe Burrow’s $1.1 million base salary.
In terms of the future, Shedeur has an opportunity to surpass Bronny James and become the richest college athlete through NIL. James has a $6.1 million valuation at the moment.
Notably, Shadeur signed his endorsement deals with Under Armour, BRADY, Beats, Mercedes Benz and Gatorade when he was still at Jackson State. He was making great money before and is making even better money now. His lucrative NIL deals are now endless. More recently, he starred alongside his family in a new KFC commercial.
Interestingly enough, Tom Brady is even taking notes on Shedeur’s deep pockets. On the “Let’s Go!” podcast on SiriusXM on Monday, Brady light-heartedly scolded Shedeur in telling Deion that his son needs to lay off the Rolls-Royce talk.
“I think he (Shedeur) needs to get his ass in the film room and spend as much time in there as possible,” Brady stated.
