In a close nonconference matchup, the Wyoming Cowboys defeated the Appalachian State Mountaineers 22-19. The Mountaineers settled for four field goals instead of scoring touchdowns. Nate Noel had another impressive performance rushing for 107 yards, while the defense held the Cowboys to minimal yards and conversions. However, a blocked field goal return for a touchdown sealed the victory for Wyoming. App State is now 2-2 for the season.
