Saturday night’s alright in Sydney

The Moncton Wildcats made it a perfect 2-win weekend in Cape Breton to open the season, drubbing the hometown Eagles 9-1 at Centre 200 in Sydney on Saturday night. Moncton won their season opener 4-0 Friday night and picked up quickly Saturday with a 3-goal first period, highlighted by shorthanded markers from Miles Müller and Vincent Collard. Müller, Collard and the game’s First Star Alex Mercier each scored twice in the lopsided win. Other goals to Thomas Auger, Gabe Smith and Yoan Loshing.
