The Spokane Chiefs secured a 4-1 road win over the Everett Silvertips on Sunday evening. The game featured two debut goals from young players Hayden Paupanekis and Mathis Preston, as well as an impressive goaltending performance from Dawson Cowan, who made 36 saves. The Chiefs dominated in the third period, scoring three goals in less than a minute to break the game open. Spokane also had success on special teams, going 3-for-5 on the power play and 6-for-6 on the penalty kill. The Chiefs will now prepare for their home opener against the Tri-City Americans on September 30.
