Jets icon Joe Namath is fed up with ‘disgusting’ Zach Wilson
NEW YORK (BVM) — Just about every New York Jets fan has had enough of Zach Wilson. But even a team legend is speaking out about the team’s current quarterback.
Joe Namath, the Jets’ QB when the franchise won Super Bowl III, fired off many posts on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday as Wilson’s struggles continued in a loss to the New England Patriots.
WRONG DIRECTION ZACH! Step UP into that pocket!

I’m starting to wonder if Zach’s playing like he’s being coached. He’s making choices that are not intuitive to the quarterback position.

The Hall of Famer took it to another level as a guest on the Michael Kay Show on Monday, further discussing his frustrations.
“I’ve seen enough of Zach Wilson,” Namath said. “It’s awful. It’s awful.”
He would continue to say that the outing was “disgusting” and he saw no positives. Namath stated that he would trade the No. 2 overall pick from the 2021 NFL Draft.
The season for the Jets took a nosedive once Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles in the season opener when the franchise opted to stick with Wilson instead of bringing in a suitable replacement.
New York is 1-2 this season and it will play the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles in two of their next three games. Head coach Robert Saleh backed Wilson in a press conference on Monday claiming he is the “unquestioned starter.”
The Jets will be on NBC’s Sunday Night Football for the first time since 2011 this week and their glaring QB struggles will be on national display.
Two veteran options that the Jets have been linked to are Carson Wentz and Nick Foles who both played for the Eagles when New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas was in Philadelphia’s front office.
It is obvious New York needs to acquire someone. Maybe even 80-year-old Namath would be a better option than what it has now.
