It seems like the Padres and Melvin are on the outs, and if he becomes available, expect him to receive a call for a lot of teams. The three-time manager of the year award winner is very familiar with the area after being in Oakland for 10 seasons. He is well-respected in the game and his career numbers would likely be much better if he had not been with the Athletics’ organization for so long.
