Buck Showalter steps down; Who will be 2024 Mets manager?

NEW YORK (BVM) – The New York Mets’ season has mercifully ended after rolling out the largest payroll in all of baseball. Despite that, the team only won 74 games in 2023.

Buck Showalter announced prior to the Mets’ final game on Sunday that it would be his last year as the team’s manager with new president of baseball operations David Stearns entering the fold.

It was an odd tenure for the veteran skipper, one that started with a 101-win season, but it would quickly falter with an early postseason exit followed by the disappointing 2023 season.

The Mets job should now attract many different types of candidates, but these are the five that should be on Stearns’ radar.
