Ranking the Los Angeles Angels’ top 5 manager candidates

LOS ANGELES (BVM) — The Los Angeles Angels entered the season with plenty of promise and two of the best players in MLB: Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout. But it was another underwhelming year in the AL West, finishing with a 73-89 record.

With another disappointing season in the books, the Angels let go of Phil Nevin, who finished with a 110-149 record. He had just one full year (2023) as the manager, but it was clear that he made an impact on his players.

“I love Phil,” Trout told the Orange County Register last week. “I love playing for Phil. He takes care of his guys. He wants the best for the team.”

He won’t be back despite Trout’s endorsement and the Angels will be hiring their 22nd manager in franchise history. Here are the top five candidates.
