(BVM) – Linus Ullmark had a historic season that came out of nowhere for the Boston Bruins. In 49 games, the Swedish goalie posted a 1.89 GAA with a .938% save percentage. He led the league in both of those categories and he was named the Vezina Trophy winner.
The Bruins however are not the same team that they were last year and it could be tougher for Ullmark to repeat that type of season without as much help around him.
With the Bruins’ expected regression and Andrei Vasilevskiy’s injury that will force him to miss the beginning of the season, it could make for an interesting Vezina award race.
These are the top five candidates to be named the league’s best goaltender.
