As long as the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes, they are going to be Super Bowl contenders. And as long as they are contenders, they’ll often be linked to several notable available players both at the trade deadline and in the offseason. The Chiefs trading for Young this past offseason was already a rumor, and it is quite possible they could still be interested in dealing for him prior to the trade deadline to fortify an already solid defense. Currently, Kansas City ranks top five in both pass defense and total defense, and with a predictably strong offense, the Chiefs are 6-1 and atop the AFC. George Karlaftis and Mike Danna have had nice seasons so far, but the opportunity to add someone like Young to a defense with Chris Jones and Nick Bolton may be too good to pass up.
