Linares is the bench coach for the Tampa Bay Rays and the 46-year-old spent 12 seasons in Houston’s minor league system and oversaw the development of current and former Astros players: Carlos Correa, Bregman, Altuve and George Springer. He also managed the Dominican Republic in the most recent World Baseball Classic, gaining managerial experience that he could use back in Houston.
