5 Penn State offensive coordinator options after Yurcich firing
5. Ja’Juan Seider, Penn State running backs coach
A fresh start with an in-house candidate certainly can’t be ruled out, and Seider will get his chance to audition for the full-time offensive coordinator vacancy as he serves as co-offensive coordinator alongside tight ends coach Ty Howle to finish this season. The 46-year-old Seider is a former college quarterback who spent time coaching high school football in Florida throughout the early 2000s before moving up to the college ranks with the likes of West Virginia, Marshall and Florida. In 2018, Seider joined Penn State, and has served as run game coordinator and assistant head coach in addition to being the running backs coach. Seider’s rushing offense has been solid again with 172.3 yards per game again this season. He seems in line for a promotion somewhere soon and his relationship with Franklin could make it happen in State College.
