Schmitz named among Big East’s best again

Cedar Grove-Belgium High School senior Tara Schmitz returned to the role she filled as a sophomore for the Rockets’ volleyball team when she was named to the Big East Conference second team. Only this time, she performed even better. Schmitz earned a first-team nod for the second straight season, splitting her time between hitting and setting in the Rockets’ 6-2 offense one year after being named to the first team as a middle hitter in a 5-1 offense. Coach Sharon Stellwagen said she talked to Schmitz about going back to being a 6-2 setter and middle hitter.
