7. VJ Edgecombe

The 6-foot-5 senior shooting guard at Long Island Lutheran (NY) has an NIL valuation of $512,000. 

Edgecombe’s NIL valuation certainly isn’t driven by his following; he has only 11,000 Instagram followers and 1,700 followers on X. He’ll need to become more active on social media in order to bank some high-value endorsement deals. His valuation appears to be driven by the fact that he’s the No. 5 overall player in the nation. 

However, it’s unclear if Edgecombe is or will be able to cash in on his name, image and likeness in the future. NIL deals are mostly restricted for foreign-born student-athletes who play a NCAA sport. Edgecombe immigrated from the Bahamas to the U.S. as a ninth-grader. That’s why many international student-athletes try to obtain a particular type of student visa that bypasses the restrictions.
