McCord was solid overall in his first season as a starter in Columbus as he threw for 3,170 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing nearly 66% of his passes. The Buckeyes went 11-1 and will take on Missouri in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on Dec. 29.
The Buckeyes’ lone loss of the year came in the team’s regular-season finale against Michigan. It was the third straight season Ohio State suffered a loss to the Wolverines and was a game that ended with a McCord interception as the Buckeyes were attempting to drive for the winning score.
It’s quite likely that was McCord’s last pass in the scarlet and grey, but the Buckeyes have several options when it comes to a replacement under center going forward. Here are five guys who could be Ohio State’s starting quarterback in 2024.
