Dejounte Murray being shopped; 5 possible landing spots
ATLANTA (BVM) – The San Antonio Spurs traded their star guard, Dejounte Murray, after coming off of his first All-Star season in the summer of 2022 to the Atlanta Hawks for a package that included three first-round picks. This was viewed as a monumental transaction for the Hawks as Murray was expected to be the star that could be paired with Trae Young.
About 18 months later, Atlanta may be looking to flip Murray, according to Marc Stein.
The Hawks are 12-18 this season, currently sitting 12th in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta must show Young they can win with him. Life moves quickly in the NBA and if the Hawks are not careful, their star point guard could request out sooner rather than later.
Atlanta could move Murray to acquire already good players or assets to make a trade later down the line to help keep Young happy.
These are five possible landing spots if the Hawks do move on from Murray.
