A high school boys basketball record that has stood for 74 years in North Carolina is no longer. On Tuesday night, Richmond guard Paul McNeil Jr. broke the all-time single game record for points by scoring 71 in the Raiders’ 118-52 victory over Lee County. The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) made an announcement Tuesday acknowledging the new record set by McNeil Jr. The previous record was held by Bob Poole of Clayton High School at 67 points, set back in 1950.
